Lieutenant General Mohammed Al Marri, Director-General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai), thanked strategic partners for their important contributions to the success of the program.
He shared that the initiative has helped 236,000 people who violated residency and visa rules, either by adjusting their status or assisting them to leave the country. Out of these, more than 55,000 individuals have already departed, with the remaining cases still being processed.
In total, 55,200 exit permits were granted to people who violated residency laws. Around 41,000 people have already left, and the rest are in the process of leaving.
Lt Gen Al Marri also highlighted the difficulties in coordinating the departures, such as limited availability of travel tickets and high travel costs. To support those who couldn’t afford travel, GDRFA Dubai provided financial help.
He spoke on Noor Dubai Radio, explaining that the grace period, which includes waivers for fines and administrative penalties, will end on Tuesday, December 31. The program started on September 1 and was extended for two months to coincide with the UAE’s 53rd National Day celebrations in December.
This initiative has offered a crucial opportunity for individuals to resolve their visa issues while benefiting from financial support and leniency in penalties.
