UAE President Launches ’Barakatna’ Initiative to Support Senior Citizens in Abu Dhabi

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has officially launched a new initiative called “Barakatna,” which is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for senior citizens in Abu Dhabi. This initiative is part of a broader effort to support and care for the community, with a special focus on older members of society. It aims to strengthen the bonds between generations, encourage stronger family ties, and promote greater social cohesion across the emirate.

The announcement of the Barakatna program took place at Qasr Al Bahr and was attended by several high-profile individuals. Among those present were His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, as well as senior representatives from the Department of Community Development, the Family Development Foundation, and other organizations that are playing a key role in supporting the initiative.

Through Barakatna, the leadership of Abu Dhabi reaffirms its commitment to building an inclusive and compassionate society where all citizens—especially the elderly—are valued, respected, and well cared for.
