Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced 15 new temporary rest areas with air-conditioning for delivery riders. These spots are located at important bus and metro stations across the city to help riders stay cool and safe during the hot summer months.
This step supports the UAE’s Midday Break Law, which bans outdoor work between 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm from June 15 to September 15. The new shelters add to the 40 permanent ones that are already available.
Each rest stop is designed to make life easier for delivery riders. They include free meals, clean drinking water, places to charge phones, and proper parking spaces for motorbikes.
The RTA’s goal is to improve comfort and safety for riders while also making sure they follow traffic rules. This move shows Dubai’s strong commitment to caring for workers and keeping the roads safe for everyone.
