Dubai Delivery Riders Support New Fast-lane Ban to Ensure Road Safety

Dubai has introduced a new traffic rule that will take effect on November 1, banning delivery motorcycles from using the fast lanes. The rule restricts riders from entering the two leftmost lanes on wider roads. This decision has been made to improve road safety, reduce accidents, and encourage more responsible driving habits across the city.

According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police, the move is part of a broader effort to protect delivery riders and other motorists. Both authorities believe that keeping motorcycles away from high-speed lanes will greatly lower the chances of serious accidents, especially during busy traffic hours.

Many delivery riders have responded positively to the decision, saying that their safety is more important than reaching destinations quickly. They believe this rule will make their daily work safer and give them more confidence on the road.

To encourage companies to follow the new rules, the RTA and Dubai Police will also introduce the “Delivery Sector Excellence Award.” This award will recognize delivery companies that comply with safety standards and promote responsible driving among their riders.
