Police in Fujairah have taken a 23-year-old woman into custody after a video of her holding and waving a sword during the Eid Al Etihad celebrations spread widely on social media. The incident occurred in the Al-Fuqait area during the UAE National Day holiday. Authorities said she has been handed over to the Public Prosecution, where further legal steps will be taken.
Fujairah Police explained that actions like this go against the laws and traditions of the UAE and can put people in serious danger. Officials added that unsafe or irresponsible behaviour during national celebrations will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, Commander Muhammad bin Nayeh Taniji, stated that the police implement strict rules and safety measures to protect the public. He said the goal is to make sure celebrations remain peaceful, respectful, and in line with the country’s values.
Earlier in the same holiday period, police also arrested sixteen young men for reckless driving and other safety violations in different parts of the emirate
