IndiGo has hired an independent aviation consulting firm, Chief Aviation Advisors LLC, to review the recent flight disruptions that caused large-scale cancellations across its network.
The airline said the main purpose of this review is to understand what went wrong and to identify the root causes behind the disruptions. The findings will help IndiGo improve its operations and prevent similar problems in the future.
This decision was made after a recommendation from IndiGo’s Crisis Management Group and was later approved by the airline’s board of directors. The review will be carried out by Chief Aviation Advisors LLC, which is led by experienced aviation professional Captain John Illson.
After completing the assessment, the firm will submit a detailed report outlining its observations and suggesting areas where operational processes can be strengthened.
IndiGo had faced almost a week of serious disruptions, during which thousands of flights were cancelled and many passengers were left stranded at airports. The airline has since started returning to normal operations and has issued refunds along with public apologies to affected travelers.
This step reflects IndiGo’s effort to address the situation responsibly and improve reliability for passengers going forward.
