Key Dubai Corridor to See Travel Time Cut from 20 Min to 5 Min

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a major road development project that will significantly reduce travel time on one of the city’s important routes. Once completed, the journey that currently takes around 20 minutes is expected to take just five minutes, making daily travel faster and more convenient for commuters.

The project focuses on upgrading Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, Al Awir Road, and Al Manama Street. The work will include the construction of new bridges, expansion of existing lanes, addition of service roads, and improvement of intersections to ensure smoother traffic flow. These upgrades are designed to handle a much higher number of vehicles, with traffic capacity set to increase by 176 percent. More than 600,000 residents and visitors are expected to benefit from the improvements.

Overall, the project aims to reduce traffic congestion, improve road safety, and support Dubai’s continued urban growth and development. The upgraded road network will better connect key areas of the city and support future population and economic expansion. The project is expected to be completed by 2028.
