Dubai’s Community Development Authority (CDA) recently marked an important achievement as 113 government employees successfully completed the Social Professional Qualification Programme. This programme was delivered in partnership with the University of Birmingham and aimed to improve the skills and knowledge of professionals working in social services.
The 74-day programme included 40 hours of accredited training, organized into two modules. It combined international best practices with approaches tailored to the local context, helping participants gain both global insights and practical skills relevant to Dubai.
The graduates came from eight major government entities, including Dubai Police, Dubai Health Authority, and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). They held a variety of roles, such as social workers, psychologists, and counsellors, all of whom play a vital role in supporting the community.
The CDA emphasized that this initiative is an important step toward building a people-focused society. By strengthening the skills of social care professionals and improving standards across the sector, the programme aims to ensure that social services in Dubai are effective, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of the community.
