UAE residents are being advised to get ready for a clear drop in temperatures as the coldest part of the winter season is expected to begin in mid-January.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology, temperatures across the country could fall by around 7 to 8 degrees Celsius within just two days. This change is due to cold air moving into the region from the north. The cooling is expected to start in the western parts of the UAE and then gradually spread to other areas.
People living in mountainous regions are likely to feel the cold the most, with temperatures expected to drop below 10 degrees Celsius, especially at night and early morning. Coastal and inland areas will remain relatively milder, but cooler conditions will still be noticeable.
Weather conditions during this period may also include strong winds, fog in some areas, increased cloud cover, and a chance of light rainfall, particularly in the northern parts of the country. Drivers are advised to be cautious, especially during foggy conditions that could reduce visibility.
