Elon Musk’s X Down for Tens of Thousands of Users Globally

Elon Musk’s social media platform X suffered a major global outage on Friday, causing problems for users in many parts of the world. The disruption affected tens of thousands of people and prevented normal use of the platform for several hours.

Data from outage-tracking website Downdetector showed that by mid-morning, more than 62,000 users in the United States had reported issues. Large numbers of users in the United Kingdom and India also experienced similar problems, indicating that the outage was widespread and not limited to one region.

Many users said they were unable to open the app, refresh their feeds, or load posts. Others reported difficulties in posting updates, replying to messages, or interacting with content. Some users experienced repeated error messages, while others found the platform completely inaccessible.

Downdetector explained that the reported figures only reflect user-submitted complaints, meaning the actual number of affected users could be much higher. As of now, X has not released detailed information about what caused the outage or how long it took to fully restore services.
