Saudi Arabia Bans Outdoor Loudspeakers for Prayers During Ramadan

Saudi Arabia has once again confirmed its ban on using outdoor loudspeakers for prayers during the holy month of Ramadan. Now, mosques are allowed to broadcast only the adhan (call to prayer) and iqama (start of prayer) through external speakers.

Minister of Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Abdullatif Al Sheikh, announced the directive through a circular sent to all mosques across the country. Authorities have also emphasized that mosques must follow the official prayer timings based on the Umm Al-Qura calendar and maintain proper intervals between each call to prayer.

The guidelines further include measures for organizing iftar events, managing water donations, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness. All these steps aim to create a calm, orderly, and spiritually focused environment for worshippers during Ramadan.
