UAE has Updated 90% of Laws and Thousands of Articles in 4 Years, Minister

The UAE has updated about 90 percent of its laws in the past four years, according to Minister Maryam Al Hammadi. This large reform involved revising thousands of legal articles to build a faster, clearer, and more effective legal system that matches the country’s modern needs.

Along with updating laws, the UAE is also using artificial intelligence to support how laws are applied and reviewed. AI tools are being used to track how laws are implemented, study public opinions and feedback, and suggest possible improvements. At the same time, officials have stressed that the rule of law, personal privacy, and constitutional protections will always be respected.

Authorities have made it clear that artificial intelligence will only play an advisory role. Final decisions will continue to be made by humans, ensuring accountability and fairness remain central to the legal system.

This initiative also focuses on preparing a new generation of legal professionals. These future experts will be trained in both law and technology, combining legal knowledge with data analysis skills. The goal is to make laws easier to understand, more transparent, and more accessible to the public, while ensuring the legal system keeps pace with rapid technological change.
