Sharjah authorities have announced plans to inaugurate 17 new mosques across the emirate before the end of Ramadan, expanding worship facilities for residents during the holy month. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to accommodate the growing population and ensure that communities have convenient access to places of worship, particularly during Ramadan when mosque attendance increases significantly for daily and special prayers.
Officials stated that the newly built mosques are located in various residential areas and have been designed to provide comfortable prayer spaces along with modern facilities for worshippers. The expansion also reflects Sharjah’s continued focus on supporting religious and community services, while preserving the emirate’s strong cultural and Islamic heritage. Authorities noted that the openings will allow more residents to gather for prayers and religious activities as Ramadan progresses.
