The sacred practice of Itikaf has begun at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, as worshippers gather in large numbers to devote themselves to prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal during the final ten nights of Ramadan. The atmosphere in Madinah has become increasingly spiritual and serene as thousands of believers settle inside the Prophet’s Mosque to observe this special act of worship.
At the same time, preparations have been intensified in both Makkah and Madinah to accommodate the growing number of visitors arriving for the last days of the holy month. Authorities have mobilized extensive resources to ensure the safety, comfort, and smooth movement of worshippers. More than 18,000 personnel have been deployed along with approximately 6,000 vehicles and a wide range of equipment to manage crowd control, provide medical services, maintain cleanliness, and support overall operations.
Special arrangements have been put in place inside the mosques to facilitate those observing Itikaf, allowing them to remain in prayer and contemplation throughout the remaining days of Ramadan. Worshippers participating in Itikaf dedicate their time to reciting the Quran, offering prayers, and seeking forgiveness, hoping to attain the blessings associated with the final nights, including Laylat al-Qadr.
The sight of thousands of worshippers gathered in devotion creates a powerful spiritual environment, reflecting the deep faith and unity of Muslims from around the world who have come to spend these sacred nights in prayer and reflection.
