9-Day Holiday: UAE Announces Eid Al Adha, Mid-Term Break for Schools

The UAE Ministry of Education has confirmed an extended nine-day break for schools in observance of Eid al-Adha. The holiday period has been scheduled by combining the mid-term break, set from May 25 to May 29, with the adjacent weekends, creating a longer and more convenient pause in the academic calendar.

This break will apply to all members of the school community, including students, teachers, and administrative staff, allowing families and educators alike to plan time for rest, travel, or religious observance. Officials have structured the calendar carefully to balance academic requirements with the importance of providing adequate downtime before the final stretch of the school year.

According to the approved schedule, classes will resume on June 1, after which students will move into a crucial phase of preparation. Mock examinations are expected to take place in mid-June, helping students assess their readiness and identify areas for improvement ahead of final assessments. The end-of-year exams are scheduled to run from June 24 to July 3, marking a key milestone in the academic cycle.

Following the examination period, results will be announced in July. The same period will also include opportunities for re-sit exams, ensuring that students who need additional attempts are supported. In parallel, schools will conduct training and development sessions for staff to prepare for the upcoming academic year.

The extended Eid break is seen as an important opportunity for students to recharge both mentally and physically before entering the demanding final phase of the year, ultimately contributing to improved focus and academic performance.
