Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi Approves 717New Government Jobs for Emiratis in Sharjah

Sharjah has taken another significant step toward strengthening employment opportunities for UAE nationals by approving the recruitment of 717 Emiratis across various government departments and institutions. The move highlights the emirate’s ongoing commitment to supporting national workforce participation and creating sustainable career pathways for citizens.

The newly approved positions will add to the 633 Emiratis who have already been employed within government entities during the first five months of 2026. This continued recruitment effort reflects Sharjah’s broader strategy of investing in local talent and ensuring that Emirati professionals play a leading role in the emirate’s public sector development.

The announcement was made by Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, who also approved the launch of a comprehensive training and qualification programme for job seekers. Scheduled to run from June through November 2026, the initiative is designed to prepare Emiratis for the evolving demands of the labour market by enhancing their professional skills, knowledge, and workplace readiness.

Approximately 410 UAE nationals are expected to benefit from the programme. Participants will receive monthly financial support of Dh6,000 throughout the training period, helping them focus on developing their capabilities while preparing for future employment opportunities. The programme has been allocated a total budget of Dh14.76 million, underscoring the government’s commitment to investing in human capital and workforce development.

The latest measures demonstrate Sharjah’s continued focus on empowering Emirati talent, reducing unemployment, and building a highly skilled national workforce capable of contributing to the emirate’s long-term economic and social development goals. Through a combination of direct employment opportunities and targeted training initiatives, Sharjah aims to strengthen the role of its citizens in shaping the future of the UAE’s economy and public sector.
