Emirati artist Hashel Al Lamki discovered his passion for art at a young age after a school teacher recognized his natural talent for drawing and encouraged him to pursue his creativity.
Growing up in Al Ain, he transformed a spare room in his family home into a personal studio, where he spent countless hours experimenting with different artistic ideas and developing his unique style.
Driven by his passion, Al Lamki later continued his education in the United States, including at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York. There, he explored a wide range of artistic techniques and mediums, broadening his creative vision while gaining international exposure and experience that would shape his future work.
Today, his artwork explores themes of memory, identity, landscape, and cultural exchange, often drawing inspiration from the historic trade routes linking the Arabian Gulf with East Africa and stories passed down through his family.
His creations combine personal experiences with broader historical narratives, giving his work a distinctive and meaningful character.
Hashel Al Lamki’s art has been exhibited in leading galleries and museums around the world and is included in several prestigious public and private collections. Through his work, he continues to represent the UAE’s vibrant contemporary art scene while inspiring emerging artists to embrace creativity, culture, and innovation.
