Over 3,500 Children to Fly Solo as Emirates Handles Busy Summer Travel Period

Emirates is preparing for one of its busiest summer travel seasons for young passengers, with more than 3,500 children expected to fly alone using the airline’s Unaccompanied Minors Service during the holiday period.

The increase comes as families across the region begin their summer vacations ahead of the new academic year, leading to a significant rise in travel demand.

Designed for children aged 5 to 12 who are travelling without a parent or guardian, the service provides comprehensive support at every stage of the journey.

From check-in to arrival, trained Emirates staff ensure young travellers receive continuous care and supervision, giving parents added confidence and peace of mind.

At Dubai International Airport, children have access to dedicated supervised lounges where they can relax and enjoy age-appropriate entertainment before boarding.

They also benefit from priority boarding, personal assistance from cabin crew throughout the flight, and a carefully managed handover process to the designated guardian upon arrival, ensuring a safe and seamless travel experience.

Emirates says the service is designed to combine safety, comfort, and convenience, allowing children to travel independently while receiving professional support every step of the way.

As summer travel reaches its peak, the airline continues to prioritize the wellbeing of its youngest passengers through dedicated care and enhanced customer service.
