Saudi Arabia is moving forward with plans to develop the Hijaz Eye, a giant Ferris wheel in Madinah valued at approximately $135 million, as part of its Vision 2030 initiative to strengthen tourism and enhance the overall experience for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
The landmark attraction is expected to provide breathtaking panoramic views of the holy city while creating a new cultural and leisure destination for millions of visitors each year.
The project is currently seeking private sector investment and is projected to generate returns within seven years.
Designed to become one of the region’s most iconic attractions, the Hijaz Eye is also seen as a potential competitor to Dubai’s Ain Dubai, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s broader vision of investing in world-class infrastructure, diversifying its economy, and establishing itself as a leading global tourism destination.
