The Sharjah Government has declared a 50% reduction in fines for businesses that have not renewed their licenses. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice-chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC).
In support of local businesses, the SEC approved the discount on fines, with the condition that owners rectify their status within four months, starting from July 10.
Additionally, the council approved a memorandum of understanding between the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) and the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) to collaborate on organizing market surveys and ensuring product conformity. The memorandum aims to enhance product safety and quality, harmonize federal and local efforts, and establish a central database for reporting non-conforming products.
