The UAE Central Bank has unveiled a new 60-gram silver commemorative coin to mark International Youth Day, observed on August 12. The special issue celebrates the important role of young people in the UAE and recognises their contribution to the country’s continued development, innovation and long-term vision.
The commemorative coin features a portrait of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, alongside words from one of his poems encouraging young people to take initiative and play an active role in serving their country.
The design reflects the values of ambition, responsibility and national pride, while highlighting the importance of youth in shaping the UAE’s future.
According to the Central Bank, the initiative is also intended to strengthen national identity and recognise the contributions of Emirati youth to economic and financial development.
The commemorative issue serves as a tribute to the younger generation and their role in supporting a sustainable and prosperous future for the UAE. The official launch date for the coin will be announced at a later stage.
