Sharjah Invests AED 7.1 Million to Expand Gas Network

The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) is investing more than Dh710 million to expand and strengthen the emirate’s gas distribution network as part of efforts to upgrade energy infrastructure and meet growing demand.

The major investment will support the development and expansion of gas network infrastructure across Sharjah, helping improve operational efficiency, enhance service reliability and ensure a stable supply for both residents and businesses.

The project comes as Sharjah continues to experience economic and urban growth, increasing demand for dependable energy services across residential, commercial and industrial areas.

Strengthening the gas network is expected to provide the capacity needed to support current requirements while preparing the emirate for future consumption.

SEWA’s investment also reflects Sharjah’s broader focus on modernising essential infrastructure and adopting more efficient systems to deliver high-quality utility services.

The expansion is expected to improve the overall resilience of the gas network and reduce pressure on existing infrastructure as demand continues to rise.

By investing in long-term energy infrastructure, Sharjah is seeking to create a stronger foundation for sustainable development and economic growth.

The upgraded gas network will play an important role in supporting communities, businesses and new development projects across the emirate while ensuring reliable energy services for years to come.
