Saudi Arabia is preparing to launch its first ultra-luxury train, Dream of the Desert, with passenger journeys expected to begin in the third quarter of 2027.
The 12-carriage train will feature 34 luxury suites and have the capacity to accommodate up to 72 passengers.
The journeys are planned to cover more than 1,000 kilometres across Saudi Arabia, taking travellers through destinations including Al-Qassim, Ha’il, Al-Jouf and Qurayyat.
Cabin prices are expected to start at around Dh30,000 per cabin per night, positioning the experience within the ultra-luxury travel segment.
Guests will be able to select journeys lasting between two and five nights, with the experience designed to combine premium hospitality with opportunities to explore Saudi Arabia’s culture, history and landscapes.
The train is also expected to offer immersive entertainment and curated experiences throughout the journey, giving passengers a different way to experience the Kingdom beyond traditional tourism.
The launch of Dream of the Desert is part of Saudi Arabia’s wider expansion of its luxury tourism and hospitality offerings, with further details on itineraries, services and bookings expected as the launch date approaches.
