Google’s Bard AI Chatbot Now Supports Over 40 Languages

During Google I/O in May, 2023, Google unveiled its Bard AI chatbot, initially available in English, Japanese, and Korean. Now, after just two months, Bard has expanded to support over 40 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, German, Hindi, and Spanish. This expansion has allowed users from Europe, South America, Africa, and other regions to access the chatbot’s capabilities.

Bard comes with several new features, such as vocalizing responses for poems or dialogue scenes, and to assist with tricky pronunciations. Users can simply click on the sound icon next to a message to hear the response. Additionally, users can now drop images into Bard to enable image analysis, create captions, or find more information online, but this feature is currently available only in English.

Another exciting feature allows users to customize Bard’s responses, adjusting the tone and length to suit their preferences. Whether users want longer, shorter, simpler, more professional, or more casual responses, Bard can cater to their needs. To facilitate easy continuation of conversations, users can now pin responses and save them to a sidebar.

For developers, a new Bard feature enables the export of Python code to Replit, alongside Google Colab. Additionally, users can share their responses or entire Bard chats with others using shareable links.

With Bard’s expansion to support multiple languages and its array of new features, Google has delivered on its promises from the Google I/O event, enhancing the chatbot’s usability and appeal to a wider audience.
