McDonald’s UAE has opened its 197th restaurant in Umm Suqeim 2, Dubai. The unique thing about this restaurant is that it is entirely run by an all-female workforce and is partially powered by solar energy, aligning with McDonald’s commitment to a greener future.
The new venue operates 24/7 and serves the nation’s favorite meals and McCafé offerings. It is the first of its kind for the brand in the UAE, showcasing the company’s growing emphasis on gender diversity within the QSR sector. This initiative follows the launch of the McDonald’s UAE Women Leadership Network in 2020, which is dedicated to supporting female team members.
CEO Walid Fakih expressed pride in empowering women and providing equal opportunities, while also contributing to a greener planet. The restaurant’s all-female workforce is complemented by solar panels and electric car charging ports.
McDonald’s UAE has a long-standing commitment to offsetting its carbon footprint through initiatives like the BioDiesel program since 2011, which converts used cooking oil into BioDiesel for their trucks.
The branch in Umm Suqeim introduces curbside ordering, allowing customers to place digital orders from designated parking spaces for added convenience. Whether ordering in person, through the McDonald’s UAE App, or via the Drive Thru, the restaurant is open 24/7, seven days a week.
