Around 9,000 American citizens currently in the UAE have chosen to remain in the country despite evacuation options offered by the US government. Several charter evacuation flights arranged for citizens have reportedly departed with empty seats, as many individuals preferred to continue using regular commercial airlines for their travel plans. With regional flight operations gradually stabilizing and more routes becoming available, many travelers have found commercial flights to be a convenient alternative to special evacuation services.
Officials say that improved flight availability across the region has significantly reduced the demand for emergency evacuation charters. Since February 28, more than 43,000 American citizens have successfully returned to the United States through a combination of government-arranged and commercial flights. During the same period, emergency response teams have assisted over 30,000 citizens by providing travel coordination, safety guidance, and other forms of logistical support. As conditions continue to stabilize, authorities have begun scaling down evacuation operations while maintaining support channels for those who may still require assistance.
