Abu Dhabi Launches Volunteer initiative to Support Visitors at Cultural Landmarks

The Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an has introduced a new community initiative designed to strengthen a volunteer network that supports visitors at major cultural landmarks across Abu Dhabi. The programme, launched in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism, reflects the emirate’s commitment to community participation while improving the overall visitor experience at some of its most prominent destinations.

Through this initiative, around 200 volunteers dedicated more than 2,240 hours to assisting international travellers who were impacted by recent travel disruptions. Their efforts included offering guidance, providing information, and helping visitors navigate cultural attractions with ease during a challenging period.

Volunteers also led tours and supported activities across Saadiyat Island, home to some of Abu Dhabi’s most iconic institutions. These included the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Zayed National Museum, and the Natural History Museum. The initiative not only highlighted the emirate’s rich cultural heritage but also demonstrated the important role of volunteerism in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for visitors from around the world.
