Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the Ruler of Ajman, has announced a new law (Law No. 2 of 2025) to create the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media. This new department will bring together the work of the former Department of Tourism Development and the Culture and Media Department under one umbrella.
As part of this change, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi has been appointed as the Chairman, while Mahmood Alhashmi will serve as the Director-General. The department will have a broad role, overseeing areas such as tourism development, protection of cultural heritage, regulation of media activities, and encouraging investment. The goal is to strengthen Ajman’s reputation and help position it as an international hub for tourism, culture, and media.
To ensure smooth operations, the employees, resources, and budgets from the previous departments will be combined into the new organization. This will help maintain continuity while also making the system more efficient.
The law will officially come into effect in 90 days. It is considered an important step in advancing Ajman’s long-term strategic vision for growth and global recognition.
