Bahrain Metro Project To Be Operational in Two Years

The Bahrain Metro Project will be up and running within two years. Recently, three ministries came together to discuss their collaborative efforts for the project. Local and international private companies are actively participating in this initiative. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been awarded the contract for Phase-1, which involves building a network of 20 stations covering around 3030 kilometers.

The DMRC will develop four metro lines in two phases, incorporating two interchanges. The main metro junction is expected to be located at Bab Al Bahrain and AI Farooq. The first line will connect Bahrain International Airport to Seef Mall, stretching across a distance of 13 kilometers and featuring nine stations. The second line will span 15.6 kilometers, encompassing 11 stations, and will serve the route from Juffair to Issa town, with convenient connections to Salmaniya, Zinj, and Tubli.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health has unveiled plans to complete the Qalali Health Center, expand Salmaniya Hospital, and establish multiple clinics. The funding for these projects, amounting to BD1.5 billion, will be sourced from the state, Gulf financing, and other channels. With these developments, Bahrain aims to enhance its transportation infrastructure and improve healthcare facilities for the benefit of its citizens and visitors alike.
