Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that public parking across the city will be free on January 1, 2026, to mark the New Year celebrations. However, this free parking offer will not apply to multi-storey parking facilities or the Al Khail Gate parking area, also known as N-365. Normal parking fees will start again from January 2, 2026.
To support the large number of people expected to travel during the New Year period, Dubai Metro and Tram services will run continuously from December 31 through January 1. This extended service is aimed at helping residents and visitors move around the city easily, especially during celebrations and events.
RTA has also shared updates regarding intercity bus services. Routes E100, E101, and E102 will continue to operate but with adjusted schedules. Passengers planning to use these routes are advised to check the updated timings in advance to avoid any inconvenience.
In addition, all RTA vehicle testing centres and Customer Happiness Centres will remain closed on January 1 due to the public holiday. However, Smart Customer Happiness Centres will continue to operate around the clock, providing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
RTA has encouraged residents and visitors to plan their travel ahead of time and make use of public transport options during the New Year period. These arrangements are part of the authority’s efforts to ensure smooth traffic flow, safe travel, and a comfortable experience for everyone celebrating the New Year in Dubai.
