The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that in celebration of New Year’s Day, all public parking areas in Dubai will be free on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. This decision provides residents and visitors with added convenience during the holiday.
However, multi-storey parking facilities will still require payment as usual. Regular paid parking services will resume across Dubai on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
To accommodate the holiday rush and celebrations, the Dubai Metro will operate continuously from 5:00 am on December 31, 2024, until the end of January 1, 2025, ensuring uninterrupted service for commuters. Similarly, the Dubai Tram will run extended hours, starting at 6:00 am on December 31 and continuing until 1:00 am on January 2, 2025.
For public buses, a few routes will temporarily be suspended during the holiday period to adjust for the increased demand on other transportation modes. This comprehensive plan ensures that the city’s residents and visitors can move around with ease and celebrate the New Year without transportation worries.
