A Dubai traffic court has ruled that both a driver and a pedestrian were responsible for a road accident on a road with a speed limit of 80 km/h.
According to the court’s findings, the accident happened when the driver hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road from a place that was not meant for pedestrians. The court stated that the pedestrian did not follow safe crossing rules and put themselves at risk by crossing from an undesignated area.

As a result, fines were imposed on both sides. The driver was fined Dh4,000 for failing to remain fully attentive while driving. The pedestrian was fined Dh2,000 for crossing the road in an unsafe and unauthorized area.
