Dubai Duty Free achieved a historic milestone in 2025 by recording its highest-ever annual sales of Dhs8.68 billion, equivalent to about $2.38 billion. This made 2025 the most successful year in the organization’s history, reflecting strong growth in international travel and increased spending by passengers.
December was a particularly strong month, bringing in Dhs922 million in sales. The boost came largely from Dubai Duty Free’s 42nd anniversary celebrations, during which a special 25 percent discount was offered to customers. Popular product categories such as perfumes, liquor, and gold played a major role in driving sales throughout the year.
In total, around 21 million transactions were completed in 2025, with customers purchasing approximately 56.8 million items. Most of the revenue came from departing passengers, who accounted for 90.6 percent of total sales. This highlights the importance of outbound travel in Dubai Duty Free’s overall business model.
Out of the twelve months of the year, ten set new monthly sales records, showing consistent demand and strong performance. Officials credited this success to efficient operations, attractive promotions, and high levels of customer engagement at both Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport. These record-breaking results have further strengthened Dubai Duty Free’s position as a global leader in travel retail and underlined the success of its long-term growth strategy.
