Dubai has opened a new free public beach library at Jumeirah Beach 2, giving visitors the chance to enjoy reading while relaxing by the sea. People visiting the beach can pick up a book, read it while spending time on the sand, and then return it after they finish. The idea is to create a calm and enjoyable reading experience in an open public space where families, tourists, and residents can combine leisure with learning.
The beach library offers a variety of books in both Arabic and English. Visitors can find different types of reading materials, including novels, history books, children’s stories, and other general interest titles. This makes the library suitable for readers of all ages, from young children to adults who want to enjoy a good book during their beach visit.
The initiative was launched as part of the UAE Month of Reading, a nationwide campaign that encourages people to develop a habit of reading and learning. By placing books in popular public areas like beaches, the project aims to make reading more accessible and inspire people to spend some time with books even during their leisure activities.
This new library follows the earlier opening of Dubai’s first beach library at Kite Beach. Authorities plan to introduce more similar libraries in different beach locations across the city in the future. The project is being managed by Dubai Municipality, which hopes the initiative will promote culture, encourage learning, and improve the overall wellbeing of the community.
