Dubai Police, together with their partners, has launched the ‘Shade and Reward’ campaign to help labourers working under the scorching summer sun. This caring initiative aims to protect outdoor workers from extreme heat and ensure their safety and well-being while on duty.
The event, held at Al Eyas Police Point, brought together around 300 labourers who were given free umbrellas to shield them from the intense sunlight. In addition to the umbrellas, the workers received important advice on how to prevent heatstroke and dehydration, which are common risks during the hot months.
The Positive Spirit Council organised the campaign with support from the General Department of Human Rights. Along with health tips, workers were also informed about their legal rights and the support services available to them in Dubai. This information helps them know where to turn if they face any problems or need assistance.
The ‘Shade and Reward’ initiative is part of Dubai Police’s Year of Community programme, which aims to build a culture of tolerance, care, and shared responsibility. The campaign reflects the UAE’s strong commitment to protecting workers’ welfare and promoting a healthy work environment.
By offering practical help and raising awareness, Dubai Police and their partners hope to make a positive difference in the lives of the city’s hard-working labourers. This thoughtful step shows that Dubai values the people who help build and maintain its growth and wants to make sure they stay safe and supported in every possible way.
