Dubai Police have taken action against 90 e-scooter riders at Kite Beach for performing dangerous stunts and riding in an unsafe manner. During the operation, authorities confiscated the e-scooters to ensure that traffic and safety rules are properly followed.
Officials explained that reckless riding puts not only the riders at risk but also pedestrians, families, and other beach visitors. They pointed out that e-scooter misuse has been increasing across Dubai, leading to a growing number of accidents, serious injuries, and even deaths. In the first five months of 2025 alone, 13 people lost their lives due to unsafe use of e-scooters, highlighting the seriousness of the issue.
Dubai Police urged both residents and tourists to respect traffic laws, avoid dangerous behavior, and use e-scooters only in approved and designated areas. They stressed that safety rules are in place to protect everyone and should not be ignored for fun or speed.
Road safety experts also highlighted the important role of parents, reminding them to closely monitor their children when they use e-scooters or bicycles. They emphasized that children should wear proper safety gear and be guided on where and how to ride safely.
This strict action shows Dubai’s strong commitment to maintaining safe public and recreational spaces. By enforcing the rules, authorities aim to reduce accidents and ensure that beaches and public areas remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.
