Dubai Police Rescue Female Driver After Cruise Control Malfunction on Emirates Road

Dubai Police acted quickly to save a woman whose car’s cruise control stopped working while she was driving on Emirates Road towards Abu Dhabi.

When the driver realized she could not slow down or stop the vehicle, she immediately contacted the police for help. In response, Dubai Police traffic patrols created a safe route for her by clearing the road ahead and keeping other vehicles at a distance. Officers stayed in constant contact with her over the phone, guiding her step by step until they were able to safely bring the car to a stop on the roadside. Their quick coordination prevented what could have been a serious accident.

Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan praised the woman for staying calm and following instructions carefully. He reminded all drivers to remain composed in such emergencies, always wear seatbelts, turn on hazard lights, and call 999 for assistance. He also advised trying to shift the car into neutral or gently applying the brakes if cruise control fails.

The Brigadier further emphasized the importance of regular vehicle maintenance. He explained that checking the car’s brakes, cruise control, and other safety systems can help prevent such dangerous situations on the road. According to him, staying alert, acting wisely, and knowing what to do in emergencies can make a big difference in reducing road risks.
