Dubai has once again made headlines as wealthy car lovers spent huge amounts of money on luxury vehicle number plates, setting a new record in the city.
In a special auction held by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), a total of more than AED 109 million was raised. This is the highest amount ever collected from a number plate auction in Dubai. In Pakistani currency, this amount is around PKR 828 crore, showing just how popular and valuable premium number plates have become.
The event was the 120th open auction organized by the RTA. It featured 90 exclusive number plates with rare combinations made up of two to five digits. Such plates are considered a symbol of status and prestige in Dubai, which is why they attract strong interest from collectors and luxury car owners.
The most expensive plate of the auction was BB12, which was sold for AED 9.66 million. This is roughly equal to PKR 73.4 crore. Another highly sought-after plate, AA25, was sold for more than AED 8 million, or about PKR 63 crore. These prices highlight how much buyers are willing to pay for unique and eye-catching number plates.
Other plates also fetched impressive prices during the auction, including BB30 and CC100, adding to the overall success of the event. The strong turnout and record-breaking sales reflect Dubai’s growing luxury market and the city’s continued reputation as a global hub for high-end lifestyles and exclusive assets.
