Dubai welcomed 17.55 million overnight visitors between January and November 2025, showing a 5 percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. This steady rise highlights the city’s strong recovery and continued growth as a global travel destination.
The increase in visitors has been supported by a balanced mix of leisure tourism, business travel, and medical tourism. Tourists are visiting Dubai not only for holidays and shopping, but also for conferences, exhibitions, and healthcare services. This variety has helped attract different types of travelers throughout the year.
Better air connectivity has also played a major role in this growth. More direct flights and improved airline services have made it easier for visitors from around the world to travel to Dubai. In addition, large international events and exhibitions have drawn business travelers, while government support and incentives for hotels have improved the overall quality of stay for tourists.
Medical tourism has become a particularly important driver, as many visitors are staying longer and spending more while receiving treatment and recovery services. This has added greater economic value to the tourism sector.
Dubai is now focusing on attracting high-value visitors rather than just increasing the number of tourists. The city’s tourism strategy combines modern, technology-based services with rich cultural experiences, lifestyle attractions, and strong business opportunities. This approach reflects a clear shift toward sustainable tourism growth that delivers long-term economic benefits for the emirate.
