Dubai Unveils Road Plan to Reduce Travel Time by 23 Minutes by 2027

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, recently reviewed the progress of several important road projects that are currently being developed by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). These major strategic corridors are aimed at improving traffic movement and making it easier for people to travel across the city.

During the review, Sheikh Hamdan was also given an update on the timelines for the completion of key road infrastructure projects. These projects are expected to be finished by the year 2027. They are an important part of Dubai’s long-term development plan, as the city is preparing to accommodate a growing population, which is projected to reach 8 million residents by the year 2040.

The briefing included discussions about other exciting future developments as well. Among them were plans to introduce autonomous taxis in Dubai. These driverless vehicles are expected to offer smarter and more efficient transportation options for the public. Additionally, there are plans to create a modern, model neighbourhood in the Al Barsha 2 area, which will serve as a showcase for new urban living standards, including sustainable infrastructure and advanced transport systems.

Sheikh Hamdan stressed the importance of completing these projects on schedule to meet the future needs of Dubai’s residents and visitors. The initiatives reflect Dubai’s commitment to becoming a global leader in smart mobility, urban development, and innovative city planning.

The Roads and Transport Authority continues to work hard to ensure that the city’s infrastructure supports its vision for growth, prosperity, and an even higher quality of life in the years to come.
