A massive fire broke out on the second and third floors of RDF Plaza in Islamabad’s G-9 area, which houses the Corporate Tax Office. The sudden incident created panic among workers and brought all operations in the building to a stop.
As soon as the fire was reported, Islamabad’s Fire and Rescue teams reached the spot and quickly began rescue work. Due to the heavy smoke that spread through the building, emergency teams helped people get out using the staircases.
At first, several people were trapped inside the building because of the dense smoke and blocked paths. However, rescue workers acted fast and managed to bring everyone out safely. Thankfully, there were no deaths or serious injuries reported in the fire.
The heat from the flames was so strong that windows shattered, sending glass onto nearby roads and footpaths. Because of safety fears, the authorities also cleared offices in surrounding buildings to avoid any harm to people working nearby.
Officials said that an investigation has been launched to find out what caused the fire. They will check if the building’s fire safety measures were working properly and whether any negligence led to the incident.
This fire has raised fresh questions about how prepared many commercial buildings in Islamabad are to handle emergencies like this. Many workers and people living nearby are now asking for better safety systems and regular checks to prevent such incidents in the future.
For now, teams have fully extinguished the fire and the area is being secured to make sure no hidden sparks remain.
