In a major digital shift aimed at streamlining access to government services, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has announced that starting October 18, all labour-related services in the UAE will only be accessible through the UAE Pass.
This initiative is part of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to promote digital transformation and enhance service efficiency. The UAE Pass, developed in collaboration with Digital Dubai, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), and Abu Dhabi’s Department of Government Enablement, serves as a unified digital identity for citizens, residents, and even visitors.
What Is UAE Pass?
The UAE Pass is a single sign-in system that allows users to access over 5,000 government and private sector services across the country from paying utility bills and registering businesses to applying for a driving licence or visa. For the UAE’s private sector workforce, this means faster, safer, and more transparent access to all employment-related records and services.
Why It Matters for Workers
For those employed in the UAE’s private sector, the change will impact how they handle essential work-related tasks. Once logged in with UAE Pass, users can:
•View and download their labour card, which is often required for services like family visa or Golden Visa applications.
•Review employment contracts to understand job terms, notice periods, and probation clauses.
•File labour complaints, including those related to delayed salaries.
•Calculate end-of-service benefits directly through the MOHRE platforms.
How to Register
The UAE Pass app is available on both Apple and Android devices. The registration process involves scanning the Emirates ID, verifying personal details, confirming email and mobile number, setting a four-digit PIN, completing a facial recognition step, and finally setting a login password.
Once activated, the UAE Pass provides seamless access to numerous services offered by various government departments.
A Push for Digital Efficiency
Officials say the move reflects the UAE’s broader vision for a digital government where public services are accessible, secure, and unified. With the October 18 deadline approaching, residents are encouraged to download the UAE Pass and complete their registration to avoid disruption to important services.
As the UAE continues to lead in government digitalisation, this change marks a significant step toward making public service delivery faster, easier, and more secure for millions of workers.
