IndiGo Recovers from Disruption, Refunds Dh41 Million to Passengers

India’s biggest airline, IndiGo, has returned more than Dh41 million (about INR 827 crore) to passengers who were affected by large-scale flight cancellations. The company says it is now close to fully restoring normal operations.

In recent days, IndiGo managed to run over 1,800 flights with a 91% on-time performance, showing a major improvement. The airline also focused on helping stranded passengers by arranging hotel stays, providing transportation, and ensuring that delayed baggage was delivered safely.

However, aviation experts believe that internal leadership issues have hurt IndiGo’s image and may have long-term effects on trust in India’s aviation sector. They say the airline must work harder to rebuild confidence among travelers.

Passengers are encouraged to regularly check flight updates on the official IndiGo website or app and to apply for refunds only through the airline’s verified channels.
