Over 1.7 Lacs Smart Water Meters Installed in Sharjah

A total of 171,953 smart water meters have been installed across Sharjah City as part of the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority’s (SEWA) efforts to embrace digital technology. These advanced meters are designed to provide more accurate measurements of water usage, ensuring better monitoring for both SEWA and its customers.

One of the key benefits of these meters is their ability to alert customers in case of leaks or unusual water consumption, helping to prevent water wastage and promote conservation. This technology aims to encourage responsible water use while reducing unnecessary costs for consumers.

The project is part of SEWA’s broader digital transformation plan and aligns with the vision of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah. His vision focuses on modernizing infrastructure and adopting smart technologies to improve services and enhance the quality of life in the emirate.

This initiative reflects Sharjah’s commitment to sustainable development and the adoption of innovative solutions to address environmental challenges while improving efficiency in resource management.
