With the sighting of the crescent moon, it has been determined that Eid Al-Adha will be celebrated on June 28. This festival holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims, as it commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah.
The clock tower’s signal serves as a powerful reminder to Muslims that the month of Dhul Hijjah has arrived. During this sacred time, Muslims from different corners of the globe embark on a journey of faith and devotion by undertaking the Hajj pilgrimage. The Day of Hajj, a pinnacle of spiritual fulfillment for millions of believers, will take place on Tuesday, June 27. Pilgrims will gather in the holy city of Mecca to perform rituals that have been practiced for centuries, following in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad.
On the following day, Wednesday, June 28, the entire Muslim community will come together to celebrate Eid Al-Adha. This festive occasion is a time of gratitude, charity, and unity. Families and friends will gather to exchange greetings and partake in feasts, which often include the sacrificial meat of a livestock animal.
