Sharjah Police has introduced a special three-day initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable members of the community by offering free replacement vehicle number plates. This service is specifically designed for elderly residents and individuals with disabilities who lost their number plates due to recent severe weather conditions.
Under this initiative, eligible residents can conveniently request replacement plates without leaving their homes. By contacting the police call centre at 901, individuals can arrange for the entire process—from application to delivery—removing the need to visit service centres in person. This step is particularly helpful for those who may face mobility challenges or health risks.
The Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department will oversee the full process, including issuing, printing, and delivering the replacement plates directly to residents’ doorsteps. The streamlined system ensures that affected individuals receive timely assistance with minimal hassle.
This effort reflects Sharjah’s continued commitment to community-focused services, especially during challenging circumstances. By prioritizing accessibility, safety, and efficiency, authorities are ensuring that those most in need receive prompt and practical support in the aftermath of disruptive weather events.
