Sharjah Police successfully stopped a vehicle after its cruise control malfunctioned while it was travelling at 80 km/h, preventing what could have been a serious accident. The incident took place near the Ahmed bin Hadeed Roundabout, and traffic patrol officers quickly intervened, reaching the scene within minutes to manage the situation safely.
Lt Col Dr Marzooq Khalfan Al Naqbi explained that the officers used a careful and controlled light-contact manoeuvre to bring the car to a complete stop, following strict safety procedures. Fortunately, no injuries or damage occurred during the incident. Authorities reminded drivers to stay calm if their cruise control fails, keep full control of the vehicle, switch on hazard lights, shift to neutral if possible, brake gradually, and contact the police immediately for assistance. This event highlights the importance of remaining alert and following safety protocols to prevent accidents on the road.
