Emirati Astronaut, Sultan Al Neyadi, who is currently on a six month mission in space, has shared a photo of Dubai at night on his Twitter account from space. The image showcases the brightly lit Palm Jumeirah and other developments on the coastline of the emirate, including the Jebel Ali port and the residential neighborhood of Jumeirah Village Circle.
Al Neyadi recently made history as the first Arab to perform a spacewalk, which lasted for six and a half hours. He will also be involved in moving the Dragon capsule to a new docking point to prepare for incoming cargo craft. But, sharing stunning videos and photos of Earth from his temporary home for six months is one of the activities that the Emirati astronaut loves to do.
In his tweet, Al Neyadi praised Dubai for shining as brightly as the stars from his view in space. He also used the #MyDubai hashtag to share the image on social media. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and President of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre, also shared the image on his Twitter account. He praised the photograph as an awe-inspiring image that paints a picture of the nation’s extraordinary achievements both on Earth and beyond.
Al Neyadi, also known as the Sultan of Space, has shared images of the UAE, Abu Dhabi, and his hometown in Al Ain. He also gave a space tour of the Arabian Peninsula from the ISS to his followers back on Earth. In addition, he posted a video of Mecca and Madina lit up at night, with the Grand Mosque shining bright on the occasion of Laylat Al Qadr, observed as the Night of Power on the 27th night of Ramadan.
Sharing these stunning visuals of Earth from his temporary home in space is a wonderful way to keep his followers engaged and informed. Al Neyadi’s recent images from his historic spacewalk were also shared on social media. As he ventures in pursuit of glory, his passion for space exploration and his love for sharing the experience with the world is both inspiring and exciting.
