Parkin, Dubai’s public parking operator, will start paid parking at six Spinneys and Waitrose supermarket locations from February 1, 2026. The goal of this step is to reduce parking congestion and make sure that parking spaces are available for customers who are actually visiting the stores.
Shoppers will be able to park for free for the first two hours. After this free period, parking fees will be charged on an hourly basis. This system is designed to discourage long-term parking and improve the overall turnover of parking spaces.
Parkin will manage these parking areas using automated entry and exit systems, modern monitoring and enforcement tools, and convenient payment options through a mobile app. These measures are expected to make parking easier, faster, and more organised for visitors.
The locations included in this plan are Trade Center Road, Karama, Motor City, Al Meydan, Umm Suqeim, and Al Thanya. By introducing managed parking at these sites, authorities aim to improve traffic movement in busy areas and provide a better experience for supermarket customers.
