The process of replacing or renewing an Emirates ID for UAE citizens has now become much easier, thanks to the new smart services system introduced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP).
Under the updated system, applicants only need to submit their application and pay the required fees. Many unnecessary steps that used to take extra time have now been removed, making the whole experience faster and more convenient.
Information such as personal addresses and other data that is already stored in the ICP system will no longer need to be entered again. In addition, the Emirates ID application form has been redesigned so that all the required details appear clearly on a single page, allowing applicants to complete the process quickly without confusion.
The ICP explained that this update is part of a larger plan to reduce bureaucracy, make customer journeys simpler, and improve access to government services. By adopting smarter digital solutions, the authority aims to save people’s time and provide services in a way that is both efficient and user-friendly.
